Weekend Video - Beirut

I was recently introduced to the band Beirut and their two videos directed by Israeli film-maker Alma Har’el. Both the music and the visuals make a nice change of pace.

I love Beirut! Try seaching for "beirut on the take-away show" on youtube. It is an amazing live take from the streets of.. paris, I think. Well, no matter where it is, it is beautiful and very nice to see a band who really knows how to play live music.

Nice, I'm a big fan of Beirut. I'm talking framed posters, both albums on vinyl, and it even got into playing the ukulele. If you like those two tracks (Postcards From Italy and Elephant Gun) you should also check out The Penalty and Transatlantique, which both also pominently feature the ukulele.

I only just started following your blog a week or two ago, but I've liked what I've seen. One of the things that attracted me to Beirut was the photograph on the cover of Gulag Orkestar, and so it's funny that I'm reading about Beirut now on a photography blog.

I recently saw Beirut at a show in Vancouver. It was phenomenal and incredible. Their music leaves me breathless and emotional.
