Aware of the fact that I haven't posted for a few days, I offer this snap from my iPhone, taken at the Hermes store on Madison Avenue.
I imagine if you came back with a good camera and with the store's co-operation could take off the few white stickers, you could get an interesting picture - a real life Thomas Demand or James Casebere.

That's really quite striking! My eye would have been drawn to it immediately.

This is why god invented Photoshop.

Love those damn Hermes boxes!

They look like lovely terracota roof tiles.
Went to a wonderful exhibition on the weekend, wanted to tell you about it! It's called 'China through the lens of John Thomson 1868 - 1872' . Surprising how engaged and modern so many of the portraits appear. The website only has a few photographs (and there were lots), but hopefully it will give you a flavour. www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/maritime/exhibitions/china/
Love the blog, Clare
Well, James, you're either more charming than me or more sneaky.
I was crossing from Central Park to the F train today and spotted that Hermes store on Madison, so I popped in to see if I could grab a shot of those boxes. No go. No pictures allowed anywhere in the store. "Not even the empty boxes?" Nope, not even the empty boxes.
I'll have to settle for your iPhone snap.
